The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) created a regulation that establishes Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs) for the food industry, the criteria that food processing and handling facilities must meet to help reduce the risk of contamination. Individual facilities must then look at these criteria and develop their own detailed Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) that will keep the food they work with contamination-free.
